The silly season.

The silly season has begun, no more nights out, no more fun. The weather's set on fair and dry, The sun is shining in the sky. The grain store waits to hold the yield from trailers full from golden fields. The moisture's checked and all is ripe, there'll be no early bed tonight. The combine roars, the header turns. The joints are greased, the auger churns. And off they go, the dust flies high the harvest home starts in July. Jan Millward©
