If aunty called when we were young,
my Mum would say “I wish she'd rung”!
We weren't allowed in the front room,
whilst Mum raced round with mop and broom.

The table would be set just so,
our faces scrubbed and all aglow.
A tin of ham in aspic jelly,

Why am I  here on planet earth?
I'll never know, for what it's worth.
A tiny dot in outer space,
one member of the human race.

Infinite miles and no one there?
I sometimes look and stand and stare.
I see the stars light up the sky,
I do not know the...

Live your life with very breath,

do not be afraid of death.

Seize the moment with both hands,

travel to those far off lands.

Love and laugh each precious day

before the seconds tick away.

Find a job where you can grow,

I saw a glimpse of her today,
she smiled and said “I know you don't I"?
I smiled back.
“Yes Mum, you know me”.
The clouds had been gathering for many years.

I don't need a car that is shiny,
I don't care if it's purple or white

Sherborne is a lovely town,
start at the top and work on down.
The Abbey stands right at the heart,
it has been there from near the start.

And many come from far and wide
to see it's treasures from inside.
The cobbled paths, the narrow lanes,
the one...

I've an appointment with the dentist
I have to have a filling.
I hate to have to listen
to the high pitched whine of drilling.

I wait with trepidation
and read a magazine.
It's about the coronation,
full of pictures of the Queen.

I have a glance aroun...

Food for free.

I've raspberries in the garden
damsons on a tree,
blackberries in the hedgerow
I love the food that's free.

There are mushrooms in the meadow
sweet chestnuts in the wood,
if you roast them in hot cinders
they taste so blooming good.

A nei...

The Show Champion.

A heifer has gone AWOL

from the grand arena.

they called out on the tannoy;

“Has anybody seen her”?

She started out sedately,

with polished hooves and collar.

No one had even noticed,

until they heard a holler.

She bolted from the show ring
